Standard embroidery digitizing builds the design entirely in thread. Applique digitizing creates a three-phase machine sequence that stops mid-run for fabric placement by the operator. The digitizer must plan placement accuracy, tack-down density, and border width for the specific applique fabric and base garment. It is a more complex process than standard fill or satin digitizing.

Standard turnaround is 2 to 4 hours for most applique designs. Complex layered or mixed applique-and-fill designs may take 4 to 6 hours on standard service.
